About Rinke Heederik
After graduating, Rinke developed his skills in 'classic' photography and graphic design.
He began photographing in the late 1990s primarily focused on black-and-white portrait photography, photos he developed himself in the darkroom.
In 2010 he and his wife, Berthine, launched a successful business in wedding photography. Rinke's work has been awarded several prizes and publications in both wedding photography and portrait photography.
In 2016, Rinke and Berthine moved to an authentic 'keuterij' (small farmhouse) in the province of Groningen. There, they embarked on a new adventure: growing their own food in an environmentally friendly way. Inspired by a documentary in which an American explores a gardening method that aligns with the original design of creation: "Back to Eden Gardening." This is an organic method that uses no tillage.
Rinke's new challenge as a gardener made him no longer want to invest in photography. With a heavy heart, he said goodbye to his photography career in the late summer of 2023.
Not long after, his wife began writing her very first book on regenerative agriculture. Rinke was able to use his experience to design and self-publish the book for her. And so,
"Heal the Land Publishing"
was born. A
new chapter in our lives where we trust God to lead us.
